The King of Staten Island is the biggest VOD release of the week, but you will have to wait until Friday to rent it on Premium VOD. There are also a couple of TV shows hitting VOD this week, Doctor Who: The Complete Twelfth Series and Modern Family: The Eleventh and Final Season. It is a slower week on the home market with no really big releases to talk about, at least not when you judge them by box office numbers. The biggest first-run release of the week is The Nutcracker and the Four Realms, which says a lot. The best is The Wife, which earns our Pick of the Week. However, The Night is Short, Walk on Girl was a close competitor.

It’s a bad week for screeners, as the screeners for both Atomic Blonde and Wind River are late. Both look like they are worth picking up, but not quite Pick of the Week material. There are a trio of contenders for this award: In This Corner of the World, Kedi, and Whose Streets? It was a close call, but in the end, Kedi came out on top.
