Synopsis
Vincent, a French Special Forces soldier just back from Afghanistan, is suffering from a post-traumatic stress disorder. He is hired to ensure the security of Jessie, the wife of a rich Lebanese businessman at their luxurious villa, “Maryland”. As he starts experiencing a strange fascination for the woman he has to protect, Vincent increasingly seems to fall into paranoia. Unless he is right, and the danger is very real indeed…

It’s the final Tuesday before Christmas and there are a few big releases that are trying to become last minute gifts. Sully is the best of the big releases, but according to Amazon.com, Dolly Parton's Christmas of Many Colors: Circle of Love is the best-selling new release of the week. I guess a very recent Christmas TV special makes sense near the top, but appearing at the very top it is surprising. As for the Pick of the Week, it is a coin-toss between Sully and Hitchcock/Truffaut on DVD or Blu-ray. Sully won the coin-toss.

Hell or High Water led the way on the Theater Average Chart with an average of $19,417 in 32 theaters. The studio was hoping for only half of that, so this is a fantastic start. The biggest new release of the week, Sausage Party, was next with an average of $11,042, while the overall number one film, Suicide Squad, was right behind with $10,232.

This week’s list of limited releases is full of films that are earning good reviews, but not great reviews, and they will struggle to survive in limited release. Then there’s Hell or High Water. The film’s reviews are just shy of 100% positive and it is going to expand wide next week. It should have the most impressive opening out of all of the films on this week’s list. It might not even be close.

Out of all of the new releases this week, A Bigger Splash is the only one earning lots of buzz. Of course, Captain America: Civil War's buzz is so great that it is drowning out all limited releases, which explains why there's not a lot of films on this week's list.
