There are a number of good releases this week. The two biggest releases are Man of Steel and Turbo. While the former has a larger target audience, the latter is the better film. It is still not Pick of the Week material. The best films are some of the smaller releases, like The Attack, Barbara, Blackfish, City Lights, and Prince Avalanche. All of those are worth picking up, but I think Nosferatu on Blu-ray is the Pick of the Week.

A Haunting in Connecticut earned terrible reviews, but did well enough at the box office to get a sequel greenlit. Granted, the sequel, A Haunting in Connecticut 2: Ghosts of Georgia, is practically a direct-to-DVD sequel that's not even set in Connecticut, but clearly the studio thought the name had some value. In fact, they've already given a third film the greenlight. Was this a wise move? Or will people who see this film avoid any others in the franchise?

I previously reviewed the original Prep and Landing TV special. I had rather low expectations, but I was pleasantly surprised. In fact, my only real complaint was its running time. The second special came out last year and was released on DVD and Blu-ray a couple of weeks ago. Is it as good as the first one? And is the DVD and / or Blu-ray Combo Pack worth picking up?
