Theater Averages: Something Good Comes out of Florida

The Florida Project dominated the theater average chart earning over $150,000 in four theaters for an average of $39,208. This is easily the best new release of the week.
There were a quartet of new limited release that were close together on the chart. Faces, Places earned an average of $6,201 in five theaters, while Dina was right behind with $6,015 in one theater. Up next were Chavela and Architects of Denial, which earned averages of $5,613 and $5,316 respectively. Walking Out earned an average of $2,731 in two theaters. City of Rock only managed an average of $2,687, but it was playing in 43 theaters. Paradise was playing in just one theater and it earned $2,401.
There were also a few films that missed the Mendoza Line, all of which were playing in far too many theaters. The Stray was playing in $640 theaters earning an average of $932. Better Watch Out only managed an average of $503 in 25 theaters. On the other hand, it is playing on Video on Demand, so its box office numbers don’t matter. Finally, there’s Earth: One Amazing Day, with an average of $650 in 70 theaters.
