June 7, 2017
Wonder Woman dominated the theater average chart with an average of $24,790. Second place went to The Exception, a.k.a., The Kaiser’s Last Kiss, which earned an average of $10,675 in two theaters.
There were a couple of other new limited releases that nearly managed to open in the $10,000 club. Letters from Baghdad and Band Aid were neck-and-neck with averages of $9,863 in two theaters and $9,671 in three theaters respectively. Unfortunately, there’s a huge drop-off after those two, as Dean only managed an average of $4,024 in 15 theaters. Past Life was close behind with an average of $3,740 in four theaters. Love, Kennedy barely avoided the Mendoza Line with an average of $2,383 in 19 theaters.
Churchhill wasn’t as lucky, earning an average of just $1,864. Granted, it was playing in over 200 theaters. 3 Idiotas was close behind with an average of $1,746 in nearly 350 theaters. The Recall was further back with an average of $939 in seven theaters. God of War was right behind with an average of $886 in 27 theaters. Finally we get to Julian Schnabel: A Private Portrait, which only managed $394 in one theater over the weekend.
