Per Theater Chart: Felix et Machina
April 21, 2015
Ex Machina remained in first place on the per theater chart with an average of $20,478 in 39 theaters. The only other film in the $10,000 club was Felix et Meira, which earned $15,018 in its lone theater.
Nearly all of the rest of the new limited releases struggled and many of them missed the Mendoza Line. The only exception was Full Moon in Paris, which opened with $5,040 in one theater. 1915 wasn't as strong with an average of $3,806 in eight theaters. Antarctic Edge: 70º South was close behind with $3,131 in its lone theater. True Story opened in more than 800 theaters earning nearly $2 million, but that's only good for an average of $2,347. Child 44 was also playing in too many theaters, 510 to be exact, but it performed even worse with an average of $1,219. Beyond The Reach was next with an average of $1,082 in 28 theaters. Mr. X earned roughly the same amount as Beyond The Reach, but was playing in 52 theaters, giving it an average of $579. Sadly, that wasn't the weakest film for the weekend. The Dead Lands only managed an average of $442 in three theaters.
