John Cleese Helps The Twits

February 7, 2003

Roald Dahl was one of the most beloved children’s authors of all time and his work is no stranger to the big screen. Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, James and the Giant Peach, The Witches and Matilda have all been adapted into movies. And now The Twits will be added to that list with a little help from John Cleese.

John Cleese of Monty Python Fame is set to co-write the script for a movie based on the children’s story. In the book the Twits are the meanest, nastiest, smelliest couple in the world. The movie won’t be a retelling of the book, but will instead use the characters created by Roald Dahl in an original story by John Cleese and his co-author Kirk De Micco.
