Fortune Favors The Brave One
September 16, 2007
The Fall season delivered another soft weekend at the box office, with only one movie topping $10 million and the top 10 movies combining for little more than $60 million.
The Brave One made an estimated $14.015 million, which was comfortably enough to top the chart ahead of 3:10 to Yuma's second weekend gross of $9.15 million -- down a very respectable 35% from its opening.
Two openers came third and fourth.
Mr. Woodcock debuted with $9.1 million from 2,231 theaters, while Dragon Wars scored $5.4 million in 2,269 venues.
Neither was a great opening, but on par with expectations.
Down the chart, The Bourne Ultimatum and Mr. Bean's Holiday were both down a little over 20%, perhaps revealing the lack of strong competition.
