Movie Website Updates for April 22 - April 28, 2007
April 29, 2007
It's a slow week in terms of the cream-of-the-crop sites. There are a few that look like they could be award-worthy once they have a few more updates, but for the most part this week we have a collection that is rather average. There was one stand-out site, Evan Almighty - Official Site, and it was the only choice for the Weekly Website Award.

The full site has launched this week, but there's almost no content here; outside the intro there's just the synopsis, image gallery, and the trailer. I did find the trailer to be very effective, and even the way the synopsis is presented gives me a lot of hope for the final site.
So far the only content on the site is the synopsis, image gallery, teaser trailer, and a game marked coming soon. It's too soon to tell if this site will be award-worthy, but I have my hopes.
The flash site launched this week but there is almost nothing that helps to sell the movie. Most of the features are actually links to sites that supposedly support the paranoid conspiracy theories of the man character. If anything, this made me want to see the movie even less than before.
No content at the moment. Given the issues they've had with the MPAA over their promotional material so far, they are probably trying to figure a way of toning it down without reducing its effectiveness.
Some information on the soundtrack was added. Overall the site didn't sell me on the movie, but I don't think I was part of the target audience.
All the usual features are here, but nothing that makes it stand out. The closest you get to an extra are the clips.
Totally new look, but all the features are marked, "Not yet sucka!" There are a bunch of profiles on social-networking sites, but those really don't interest me.
If you go here and make a donation you can get your name on the DVD when it is released. $5 is a cheap price to pay to spread my fame. ... Oh yeah, and it's good for the environment. There are also a few more games on the site including a sudoku and a tetris clone. Even though there are still a few features missing, (like the cast & crew bios and the Explore an Ark feature), this is clearly the best site on this week's list. Normally I'd wait a bit more before giving it the awards as I hate handing these things out to incomplete sites, but it is a bit of a slow week in this department and even if nothing else was added it deserves to win the submerging Weekly Website Award.
There's a new look for the American release, but so far there is almost no content.
The site is finally back. There have been no updates in so long that the site still has the movie coming out in Spring 2007.
The bios and production notes were added.
The flash site launched and it has all the usual features, (synopsis, bios, production notes, image gallery, and trailer). However, there are not enough extras to make the site stand out. On a side note, I had mixed feelings towards the trailer. I like Carly Schroeder and think she's a great actress, but while the movie has an inspirational story, the trailer didn't make it feel fresh enough.
I'm liking the new trailer. This could be the best Harry Potter yet.
All of the usual features are here, as well as a number of clips.
MySpace. Ugh.
Just the very basics plus a text based interview.
Wow. Slow loading today. There are some images from the premiere, but that's it for this week.
Music & links were added to the site.
The flash site launched this week and it has all the usual features as well as a couple extras. The main extra is the Who is Mr. Brooks section that has clips with the red thumbprint you roll over. I got all five but nothing special happened. There's also another section for clips, but it is marked coming soon.
The first of the Podcasts is online, and in it several cast members talk about what songs are on their iPods. I have to say Josh Flitter has good taste in music, especially for a 12-year old. Then again, when I was 12 I was listening to Led Zeppelin as well.
The rest of the experience was added to the site. It's not interactive enough to really satisfy me, but the overall site is still above average.
MySpace site. On a side note, the film is currently screening at the Tribeca Film Festival and the schedule is on the site.
Just the trailer, which didn't sell me on the movie.
A metric buttload of videos were added to the blog this week, including even more on the Tokyo premiere.
The flash site is up, but there's almost nothing here. There's the synopsis and the trailer, as well as some audio clips and a red-band trailer that I can't see cause I don't have a valid American ID. I hate those age verification programs that never seem to take into account people from Canada.
Another game was added to the site.
The synopsis and the trailer were added this week.
Apparently someone complained that the name wasn't long enough cause they changed it from Wild West Comedy Show: 30 Days & 30 Nights - Hollywood to the Heartland to Vince Vaughn's Wild West Comedy Show: 30 Days & 30 Nights - Hollywood to the Heartland.
Just the trailer.
