Synopsis

A stand-up comedian is his or her own writer, director and star performer. Unlike any other art form, there is no safety net. In its singular realization, comedy thrives on a stage—often in front of hostile audiences. For most people, baring your soul and being heckled would be a life-changing trauma. For stand-ups, it’s just part of the routine.

Limited and VOD Releases: Give the Gift of Zucchini

February 24th, 2017

My Life as a Zucchini

January and February are terrible months to release a limited release movie. Not only is it way too soon to earn Oscar buzz, but the competition includes a ton of last year’s crop of Oscar contenders. Worse still, this is Oscar weekend. I’m not saying there are no good movies coming out. My Life as a Zucchini is an Oscar-nominated film and it deserves to be seen. The Girl with all the Gifts feels like it is being dumped on VOD, but the reviews suggest it could find an audience on the home market. More...
