Daily Box Office Tracking: Endgame’s Tuesday Box Office Lifts it Further Up the Chart
May 1, 2019
Avengers: Endgame continued to climb the domestic chart earning $32.9 million on Tuesday. This is the biggest non-holiday, non-opening result for a Tuesday, while it placed third on the overall Tuesday chart, behind The Force Awakens and The Amazing Spider-Man. This was also enough to raise its running tally to $426.89 million, putting it in first place for the year after just five days of release. This is also enough for fifth place in the M.C.U. and 20th biggest domestic hit of all time. To emphasize, Avengers: Endgame is the 20th biggest hit on the all-time chart after just five days of release.
Internationally, the movie pulled in $105.3 million for a total of $1.054 billion after just seven days of release. Avengers: Endgame became just the seventh film to earn $1 billion internationally and did so in a week. The film is already in sixth place on that chart, behind The Force Awakens and ahead of The Fate of the Furious. Furthermore, since today is May Day, which is a holiday in much of the world, today’s numbers will likely be even better helping the film vault into the top five. On the worldwide chart, the film remained in eighth place with a running tally of $1.481 billion. It will leap ahead of The Avengers and Furious 7 today.
Looking in on individual markets, we see China locked at the top with $39.9 million on Tuesday for a seven-day total of $389.1 million. Avengers: Endgame earned $5.3 million in Russia for a two-day total of $13.0 million. It also cracked $5 million in Mexico with $5.0 million for the day and $40.7 million in total. There were a number of markets that were close behind, including India ($4.3 million for the day and $36.3 million so far); South Korea ($4.1 million / $54.8 million); the U.K. ($4.0 million / $64.7 million); and Brazil ($4.0 million / $34.1 million).
