Chapter is Not Unforeseen on the Per Theater Chart

There were just two films to reach the $10,000 plateau this week, Chapter 27 and The Unforeseen. The former topped the latter, but it was close at $13,910 to $12,877.

There were also a couple new release that came awfully with Alexandra earning $9,401 in one theater and My Brother is an Only Child earning $9,357, also in one theater. Hats Off did will with $6,570 in its lone theater while Backseat was close behind with $5,816. Flawless opened with a per theater average just over $5000 ($5,197) and fellow 'less' film, Priceless, opened with an average just under $5000 ($4,846). Happy Valley opened with nearly $30,000 in 7 theaters for an average of $3,875, which is better than many Utah exclusive opening get. Finally, American Zombie opened with $3,126 in one theater, which is better than most horror films have done in limited release.

This past week also saw milestones reached for a few Per Theater Charts alumni:

• The Band's Visit has peaked at the box office, but the didn't stop it from reaching $2 million since last week. And if it continues these soft declines, it will easily reach $3 million.
• The Counterfeiters also made it to $2 million since last week, and it should also reach $3 million before long.
• Thanks in part to expansion, Under the Same Moon topped $5 million over the weekend and is tracking to surpass $10 million.
• Sea Monsters: A Prehistoric Adventure has shown renewed strength recently and that helped it hit $10 million.
