Synopsis
Launched in 1981 by three friends in a Houston diner, Compaq Computer set out to build a portable PC to take on IBM, the world’s most powerful tech company. Although many others had tried cloning IBM’s prized code, only to be trounced by high-priced lawyers, Compaq’s vision for a portable PC found startling success, sending shockwaves through the industry and dethroning a tech giant.
