Synopsis
Accessible to both fans and newcomers, the film traces the evolution of Israel's cinema alongside its political and social history. Part One spans the years 1933 to 1978, examining the film industry's relationship to the Zionist struggle to form a state, and the propagandistic revolutionary cinema that resulted. Part Two covers the shift to the realist filmmaking of the late 70s, and the transition from the political films of the 80s to the more personal cinema of today.
