Synopsis

A resentful young Parisian chambermaid finds herself exiled to a position in the provinces where she immediately chafes against the noxious iron rules and pettiness of her high-handed bourgeois mistress, must rebuff the groping advances of Monsieur, and reckon with her fascination with the earthy, brooding gardener Joseph.

Home Market Releases for October 4th, 2016

October 4th, 2016

The Wailing

The theme for this week on the home market is “good, but not great”. There are a lot of releases, but almost none of them rise above merely good. This meant there were very few contenders for Pick of the Week and the only real choice was The Wailing. It earned perfect reviews, so even though the Blu-ray isn’t loaded with extras, it is still the best release of the week. More...

Theater Averages: Conjuring Comes Out on Top, but De Palma is De Lightful

June 15th, 2016

De-Palma

This includes the overall number one film, The Conjuring 2: The Enfield Poltergeist, which opened with an average of $12,087. The only other film in the $10,000 club was De Palma, which earned an average of $10,118 in three theaters. More...

Therapy for a Vampire is the film I'm most interested in seeing, but while its reviews are great, it likely won't escape the art house circuit. More...
