Tom Cruise

About Tom Cruise

Tom Cruise started his movie career at the time of the Brat Pack, a group of young promising actors including Emilio Estevez and Rob Lowe with whom he co-starred in The Outsiders. Tom Cruise was never considered to be part of the Brat Pack and that might have been a good thing. The brat packers didn't really have any succes after the mid '80s, while Tom Cruise went on to have one box office hit after the other. Since his big breakthrough in 1986 (Top Gun) none of the movies he had a leading role in has made less than 50 million, and 11 of the 17 grossed more than 100 million, making him one of the most succesful box office stars.
