Award Season - The Writing is On the Wall

January 12, 2007

The Writers Guild of America is the last of the guilds to hand out nominations, which they did so this week. And while there are 20 or so categories, only two of them are theatrical.

Original Screenplay

Adapted Screenplay

Note and Reactions:
  • Dreamgirls didn't earn a nomination, this is a surprise. The Shine may has worn off on the film. This might be determined on Monday, depending on how well it does at the Golden Globes.
  • The Departed did get a nominations, which is not a surprise.
  • A lot more comedies were given props that I anticipated.
