Once is Number One on Per Theater Chart

Once won a close race for top spot on the per theater chart, just topping Shrek the Third $30,951 to $29,507. Brand Upon the Brain! held up better than expected, earning an average of $18,907 in its three theaters while Chalk was the only other film to top $10,000 with $13,363. More...

DVD Releases for May 22, 2007

May 22nd, 2007

It's the first busy week of the month, and it won't get this busy again for the rest of summer. There is literally a hundred releases mentioned on this week's list, roughly half of which are coming out to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the birth of John Wayne. However, while there were plenty of those releases coming out, it was another classic movie to win the DVD Pick of the Week. That classic film is The Third Man - Criterion Collection - 2-Disc Edition - Buy from Amazon. More...

Movie Website Updates for May 13 - May 19, 2007

May 19th, 2007

Either it was a really slow week or my Google-Fu is way off, because there's a short list this week. I was tempted to give the award to The Transformers - Official Site just for the new trailer, but I already geeked-out over that site when the first trailer came out. In the end there just wasn't a site worthy of the award this week. More...

Will Severance Rule the Limited Releases?

May 18th, 2007

It's a bad week for limited releases with only a couple managing to earn overwhelmingly positive reviews, and none of the wider releases earning even moderately positive reviews. Of the films on this week's list, the one I'm cheering for the most is Severance, but its chances are mixed. More...
