DVD Releases for November 20, 2007 - Part I

November 20th, 2007

This week, we have another big list of DVD releases, including nearly a dozen spotlight reviews. And again, we had to split the list into two parts. There are also a number of high quality releases this week, making the selection for DVD Pick of the Week a tough one. Live Free or Die Hard had me interested, either the Unrated 2-Disc Edition or as part of the Blu-Ray Die Hard Collection, but in the end I went with Star Trek - The Original Series - Season 1 - HD-DVD/DVD Combo. Even at a steep price, it is still the best on this week's list. More...

Pirates Sail into First Place on Per Theater Chart

May 30th, 2007

Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End, and its record-breaking theater count of 4,362 were able to top the per theater chart this weekend with $26,303. As impressive as that was, both Shrek the Third and Spider-Man 3 opened with better averages. Paprika opened in second place with $17,797, but while that's a great start, its niche market appeal will prevent it from expanding wide. Last week's winner, Once, fell to third with $16,607, but, given the film's expansion, this was an amazing hold. The Golden Door opened with an average of $13,872 in two theaters while Shrek the Third was close behind with $12,713. More...

Movie Website Updates for May 20 - May 26, 2007

May 26th, 2007

Another slow week. If this keeps up I'm going to have to rethink my methodology. Not only were there not as many sites as I would like, there were none that really stood out as award-worthy. The best was Stardust - Official Site, but here I will wait for more of the content to be added before I make a final decision. More...

Limited Releases Spice Things Up

Busy week for limited releases and a busy week for websites, which explains why I'm wrapping things up at midnight.
