Top 5 Reasons I Liked This Movie

  1. Very moving and honest looks at relationships and what they really are about
  2. Funny funny funny funny funny
  3. Excellent cast, each character believable and beautifully portrayed by just the right person
  4. Dialog snappy, bright and clever, realistic and insightful
  5. John Cusack - okay I lied, he is really the #1 reason
  6. The music

Oh wait, I said five reasons.

We live in a small, unsophisticated town (I say that with respect and fondness for the people I know and love here) and are constantly viewing films alone or in groups of one or two other couples. This audience was about twice as big as the usual, and actual audible laughter came from those around us, and not just once, and not just polite giggles, either. What a breath of fresh air this was, and I was so ripe for it.

I believe this one is #1 of my top 5 movies of this year (let's see, also on list is The Beach and Ninth Gate). Not among many contenders, as it is only March at this writing, but a hearty favorite at this point.

Not to be called a chick flick by any means, as films that deal with feelings so often are; this is masculine and hip and very real. I am already planning my repeat viewing of this one.

Pros: read the review
Cons: none
Bang for the Buck: Worth full-price to see it on the big screen
Movie Mood: Funny Movie
Overall rating: 5 stars
