Review by Nonia Bidness

This One Was a Lot of Fun!!!

We saw it at our local art movie house tonight, and it drew a big, enthusiastic crowd. We are from Texas and I think it is fun to see movies about Texas now that we moved away, because the audience finds so much more humor in the accents and peculiarities of Texans than they did back "home".

These actors did a great job, very funny, and a wacky story. I think this redeemed William H. Macy in my eyes (he was heading downhill with a bullet after Mystery Men and Magnolia). Jeremy Northam was handsome and very believable; I had only seen him in period pieces before (An Ideal Husband and The Winslow Boy). Steve Zahn really has talent, and took guts to play that character.

I don't even know if this is out on video and was glad we got to see it in a theater; this is one that makes ya feel good and yes, groan, Happy!

Pros: fun story, good cast, loads of laughs
Cons: people overlook small films like this
Overall Rating: 4 stars
