Full List of 2008 Oscar Winners

Every year since 1998, we've been asking you to predict who will win at the annual Academy Awards.

As usual, Numbers readers were accurate in their predictions, this year picking 14 out of the 24 winners, including No Country for Old Men's Best Picture win. That's the ninth year out of eleven that readers have correctly picked the top Oscar.

We also continued our good performance in predicting the winner for Best Animated Feature, with Ratatouille scoring a comfortable win. That takes our lifetime achievement in that category up to six out of seven.

The big surprises among the major awards this year were wins for Marion Cotillard and Tilda Swinton in the actress categories when the odds seemed heavily stacked against them. But the two biggest upsets overall were the Documentary Feature award for Taxi to the Dark Side and the Visual Effects win for The Golden Compass. In both cases, the wins aren't so surprising in retrospect, but we had them pegged as major outsiders.

We're currently running the numbers on the competition. We'll announce results next week. It's too early to be sure, but it looks as though you'll have had to predicted a lot of winners to be in with a chance.

Here's the complete list of this year's Oscar winners, along with the percentage of Numbers readers who predicted they would win in our Predict the Academy Awards competition.

Lines in bold below indicate where our predictions where spot on.
