Christmas In November Box Office Performance Comparisons
The graph below shows a day-by-day breakdown of the total box office gross for movies that would
usually be considered traditional Christmas faire, but were released at the beginning of November.
The studios theorize that these movies will have sufficient legs to pick up good business through
both the Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday seasons.
"Christmas in November" movies have become something of a tradition since the outstanding
success of Monsters, Inc. in 2001.
The graph shows relative performances for the movies over their first 50 days in release.
The figures are not inflation-adjusted.
